The Orange facility is a modern distribution hub, vehicle maintenance and warehouse facility servicing the Central West and Eastern Seaboard regions. This is an immediate opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager with a desire to live and work in a popular regional centre, to contribute to the ongoing growth of this successful business.
About the Role
Reporting to the Divisional General Manager, and supported by an experienced team of Supervisors, the Operations Manager is a pivotal role in the successful running of this busy transport operation out of the Orange distribution hub. Competitive salary plus vehicle is on offer.
The Operations Manager has overall responsibility for the planning, organising and full utilisation of all equipment and drivers, as well as customer management of major accounts with secure, long-term contracts.
With a total staff of approximately 100 personnel including drivers and operations staff, the Operations Manager ensures all activities are performed safely, accurately and in accordance with legislative, company and customer requirements, including:
About You
You are an experienced Operations Manager, with at least five years transport industry experience. You want a career challenge in a progressive and highly regarded Australian business.
Whilst industry experience in transportation is preferrable, you may have a background in manufacturing, logistics, wholesale or distribution. Working in a similar sized business ($40M+) that is dynamic, family-owned and professionally run will be an advantage.
Alongside your industry experience, you have excellent people management and relationship skills. You have a demonstrated ability to manage in a busy and complex 24/7 environment with a focus on safety, efficiency and service. You thrive on developing and leading a successful team and coaching your people to be the best they can be.

Applicants will have a minimum of VCE/HSC education, ideally tertiary qualified, with further vocational training in related areas such as Operations Management, Supervision, Project Management or Quality Assurance.
