Our fleet is fitted with Ron Finemore Transport Driver Safety System™ Fleet technology that monitors our driver’s eyes and head position and provides immediate feedback via an alarm and seat vibrator when it detects our drivers are tired or distracted. Forward facing cameras are also fitted in our fleet and enables drivers to capture an event, either moving or stationary and will assist drivers in incident prevention and review.
We continue to invest and develop technolgy to keep our drivers and all road users safe. In partnership with Monash University Accident Research Centre, Seeing Machines and Ron Finemore Transport Services, ee are working towards developing the intelligence that keeps truck drivers and road users safe through future driver monitoring technology. The joint program builds on the Seeing Machines’ Guardian technology platform that actively monitors for and alerts drivers to fatigue and distraction.
We operate the youngest and most modern fleet in Australia. As part of our continued investment in a safe and modern fleet, and in providing a reliable service for our customers, we have recently taken delivery of new trailer equipment in Woolworths Primary Connect livery. These trailers were manufactured by Maxitrans and will deliver productivity gains through higher pallets per load. The new trailers will replace some of the older trailers in the fleet as well as increase capacity to manage ongoing and expanded contractual obligations with Woolworths Primary Connect.
We have also taken early delivery of one of the new generation Mercedes Benz primemovers that feature added safety and liquid efficiency benefits associated with mirrorless technology. The MirrorCam system, which uses aerodynamic cameras connected to two large screens in the cabin, dramatically boosts driver vision. The new truck also new features such as new driver controls added on the steering wheel, GPS-assisted Predictive Powertrain Control for increased efficiency, enhanced connectivity and the latest generation of advanced safety technology.
