Transport Operations Supervisor - Orange

About the Opportunity

A permanent full-time position is available for a Transport Operations Supervisor based in Orange.   This position would ideally suit someone looking to develop their career with a respected Company with ambitious growth plans. 

You will be responsible for the effective allocation and management of a geographical group of the Company’s heavy vehicle fleet along with the drivers allocated to this group. This role would suit someone who is self-motivated, works well in a dynamic team, enjoys a challenge and is customer-focused. Someone who is committed to achieving outcomes and also wants to progress within the organization would be an ideal fit for our team.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Demonstrate self motivation, sense of urgency and excellent communication skills
  • Maintain a positive “can-do” attitude with the ability to think, adapt and learn in a fast paced dynamic environment
  • Ensure all operational, administration, customer service / relationships are managed in a professional and appropriate manner
  • Maintain effective, efficient and best practice logistics solutions within the operations
  • Work a rotating roster, based around the need to have 24/7 coverage across the contract requirements

Skills and qualifications required:

  • Basic Fatigue Management qualifications and previous logistics planning experience an advantage
  • Attention to detail and focus on customer service
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment as a team leader
  • Ability to work unsupervised & to handle multiple tasks
  • A thorough understanding of task allocation and coordination
  • Ability to manage drivers in order to complete scheduled tasks
  • Above-average data entry skills
  • Competent user of Microsoft Windows software
  • Relevant sales and customer relationship experience
  • Current Forklift ticket desirable
  • Ability to work within an established Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) system
  • Contribute to the improvement of systems and the working environment
