Operations Manager - Orange

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a nationally recognised, regional transport and logistics business at its modern, ‘state of the art’ facility in Orange, NSW. Be part of the local leadership team in a progressive and highly respected business, noted for its commitment to safety, reliability, service and its people.
Reporting to the Divisional General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for planning, organising and co-ordinating a workforce of approx. 100 personnel in the key areas of equipment, people and customer management, ensuring safe, reliable and cost-effective delivery to clients.
Your core responsibilities include:
- leading and managing a team of supervisors across several shifts
- maintenance and continuous improvement of strong customer relationships
- ensuring optimal availability and utilisation of all drivers and trucks
All of these duties are to be done with safety and service as top of mind.
This role will suit an experienced Operations Manager with recent transport industry experience, who is looking for a career challenge in a progressive and highly regarded business.
About You
You have excellent people management and relationship skills, with a passion for excellence through implementing best practice systems and processes. You have a demonstrated ability to manage in a busy and complex 24/7 environment with a focus on safety, efficiency and service. You thrive on developing and leading a successful team and coaching your people to be the best they can be.
Your experience will include:
- 5+ years hands-on Operations Management or Senior Supervisory experience
- Planning, budgeting and controlling resources with 100+ staff
- Strong communication and decision-making skills
- Experience in managing and leading a team
- Implementing and maintaining adherence to company policies and procedures
- Experience in managing productive customer relationships
