About the Role
Reporting to the NSW/ACT Contract Manager, and supported by a small team of operations supervisors, the Operations Manager is an integral and hands on role contributing to the successful running of this steady, mid-sized transport operation. Effectively managing driver relationships is an essential part of the role.
The Operations Manager has overall responsibility for the planning, organising and full utilisation of all equipment and drivers, as well as customer management of major contracts in temperature-controlled delivery.
With oversight of approximately 60+ drivers and 2 operations staff, the Operations Manager ensures all activities are performed safely, accurately and in accordance with legislative, company and customer requirements. This is a hands-on role including:
This is a permanent, full-time and hands on role and is based at our site in Goulburn, NSW. Role is spread over 5 days including one weekend day.
You are an experienced Operations Manager or senior supervisor with at least three years in transport. You understand the dynamic nature of the transport industry and the requirements of working in a professionally run operation.
Alongside your industry experience, you have excellent people management and relationship building skills. You have a sense of urgency and a demonstrated ability to manage in a busy and complex 24/7 environment with a focus on safety, efficiency, and service.
You are exceptionally organised and know how to stay three steps ahead of the game. You remain calm under pressure, know how to work to a plan, but also show flexibility and resilience when things need to change to meet customer needs.
