Transport Operations Planner & Organiser Support Night Shift - Barnawartha

About the Role

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the organisation and coordination of our  team of 115 drivers, and fleet of 60 trucks and 80 trailers to plan and allocate workloads accordingly.

Note, that this is a night shift support role within a 24/7 work environment and meeting the needs of a blue-chip client.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing the loading, unloading of allocations and drivers
  • Coordinating with drivers on runs and supervising their daily workloads
  • Planning and preparation of freight loads
  • Assigning loads to trucks and managing load short falls
  • Liaising with customers regarding loads and deliveries
  • Processing and data entry of paperwork
  • Work with drivers on their daily logbook hours to manage return loads
  • Preparation and management of customer freight updates
  • Management of maintenance requests and fleet availability
  • Updating the daily load plans including load counts
  • Ensuring all loads are running to schedule

This is a casual night shift role. The role reports to the Operations Manager and is based at our Barnawartha client site. All incoming team members are expected to begin work in the dispatch role to get familiar with our client’s systems and processes, and to develop their understanding of the specific requirements for the role and the client. About the Role

In this role you will be responsible for influencing a culture of safety across the business, supported by the senior safety officer and other members of our compliance, quality, injury management and training teams. This role is the eyes and ears of the team out in the field, performing site inspections and carefully monitoring all things safety across the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Improve safety standards for all employees
  • Perform site safety inspections, hazard identifications and risk assessments

This is a permanent, full-time role reporting to the Senior Safety Officer, and is based at our client’s regional office in Orange, NSW. Travel will be required to company and client sites in Goulburn and Sydney for approximately 1 week per month.
