This role leads a team of 10 people across safety and training.

The Opportunity
A permanent full time position is available for a Transport Operations Supervisor based in Orange.   This position would ideally suit someone looking to develop their career with a respected Company with ambitious growth plans.  

You will be responsible for the effective allocation and management of a geographical group of the Company’s heavy vehicle fleet along with the drivers allocated to this group. This role would suit someone who is self-motivated, works well in a dynamic team, enjoys a challenge and is customer focused. About the Role

Based in Wodonga and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be supported by an experienced and professional accounting team. The GM Finance will initially be responsible for the management of all accounting and finance functions of the business.

With a view to employing a candidate capable of progressing to Chief Financial Officer (CFO), successful progression would see you ultimately reporting to the Managing Director and Board, working collaboratively with the Senior Management Team, to contribute to the overall strategy of the organisation and the achievement of agreed strategic objectives.

The GM Finance is a challenging and rewarding role, that requires a keen eye for process, efficiency and accuracy, but also a passion for business management, continuous improvement and driving change.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership to the accounting team and working collaboratively with the broader group management team to add value to the business;
  • Delivery of timely and accurate management information and results, including weekly and monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reporting;
  • Financial oversight of the Company's self-insurance and risk management programs associated with Workers Compensation and general insurance policies
  • Supporting tender preparation and other commercial arrangements to ensure profitable outcomes;
  • Co-ordinating the annual audit and preparation of financial statements as well assisting with co-ordination and development of annual budgets and quarterly three-way forecasts;
  • Ensuring the organisation operates within all statutory and legal requirements by managing corporate governance policies, process and practices;
  • Contributing to continuous quality improvement by proactively reviewing and implementing process and reporting improvements.
  • Proactively engaging and managing external relationships with financiers, legal counsel, auditors and insurers

About You

You are a commercially astute and experienced finance and accounting executive and you are now looking for a career challenge in a new environment, with a desire to live and work regionally. 

Industry experience in Logistics or Transport is desirable but not essential, however an understanding of working in a dynamic, medium-sized business ($150M+), that is family-owned and professionally run will be an advantage.
